He said the victim was out of the eight samples sent to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC Referral Lab in Abuja, while six are negative and one is still pending stressing that five were direct contacts of the index case as traced and three were new suspicious cases who were showing symptoms.
He notes that the contact tracing of the second case is not only tedious but strenuous as the tracing is no doubt more daunting which may be sliding into the most dangerous phase of the pandemic, that is Community transmission of the virus due to uncertainty of how the person got the virus.
Governor Umaru Fintiri called for caution and action as well as the need for people to stay safe and adhere to the pandemic’s prevention and uphold personal and environmental hygiene by avoiding overcrowding and maintain social and physical distancing among others.
He declared that the index case is in stable condition and the Case Management Team is attending to him with the best of care while he is recuperating fast and hoped that soon he will be discharged and come back.
